Jen E. Smith’s new novel This Is What Happy Looks Like (keywords: celebrities, email, summertime, scandal, and ice cream) comes out this April and it seems HAPPY is everything and anything we can talk about.
For some people happy is a free Saturday spent binge watching their favorite show. For others it’s splitting a pizza with their favorite person. For us, for today at least, it’s: fireworks, extra dessert, live music, and a dog in a sweater.

Book covers are important. You go into a bookstore and what do you see? You see covers. The bookstore experience is about the design, the color, the shape, the feel. I mean when you walk into a bookstore, sometimes you’re overwhelmed. But aren’t you stimulated by the art? And it is art.
