Immortal Dark Characters as the Zodiac Signs

Finally, you guys. FINALLY, THIS BEAUTIFUL BOOK IS OUT IN THE WORLD! And since I know you are going to be 100% as obsessed with as I am, I’ve done you the favor of letting you know what character you are based on your zodiac sign.

There are 12 Acti Houses in Immortal Dark. There are twelve different zodiac signs. Coincidence? I think NOT!!!

I’ve put my blood, sweat, and tears into this. Dissecting. Re-reading. Asking random co-workers what their astrological signs are then saying things like “Ah HAAAA… makes sense… interesting…” very mysteriously. They hated it! But it’s not about the journey, it’s about the destination. Or whatever. And I got there eventually. All great science must step on some toes. And so here, my lovely NOVLrs, is my dissertation on human SLASH vampire behavior by way of Immortal Dark and astrology.

Aries

Kidan Adane

Aries are known to be FIERCELY protective of their loved ones… almost obsessively! They aren’t afraid to put someone in their place who tries to bother their friends, and they fight for themselves just as hard. They’re often described as bold, energetic, and ambitious. They are also said to be passionate, impulsive, and driven by their hearts. This is Kidan to a T! Kidan will go to the ends of the earth for her sister June, is the queen of feisty and fiery. As Susenyos says to her – “You’ll wake that terrifying love and loyalty I’m jealous of and use it well… And God help us all if we’re considered unworthy when you do.”

Taurus

Samson Sagad

Oh, my sweet misunderstood Taureans. You know how to hold a grudge and can be extremely stubborn when doing so! I wouldn’t want to end up on your bad side, as you are one of the most ambitious and focused signs. You know how to play the long game in professional and romantic pursuits… And I can’t wait to see Samson’s game play out in the second Immortal Dark book!

Gemini

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Gemini

Taj Zuri

“We’re not monsters. Wait, no. That’s wrong. We’re not monsters unless you want us to be.” – Taj. UM OKAY Jekyll and Hyde much!!! THE DUALITY OF MAN!! Flirty troublemaker Taj SCREAMS Gemini and I love that about him. You want to invite him to all your parties, of course, but you don’t really know what he’s going to get up to. It’s a 50/50 toss up if he’ll be on his best behavior, but the man can work a room.

Cancer

GK

Gentle natures? Genuine compassion? Mystical capabilities? 100% GK. GK, as a Mot Zebeya, is for protection of life, and I can’t think of a better sign than the empathetic Cancer! Cancers are said to effortlessly pick up the vibes in a room and from the people around them. Cancers, as the crab, are also known to have a bit of a tough, protective, and secretive outer shell. And you know those Mot Zebeyas keep their cards close to their chest…

Leo

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Leo

Yusef Emil

“He wants to become a talented, cocky little artist. The world can only handle one of those, and that’s me.” – Yusef Emil. Handsome, funny, vivacious Yusef definitely gives me Leo energy. Though Leos can be overcome with pride and jealousy (watch out, Rufeal Makary), they are also stable, loyal, and consistent, which is why Yusef is such an amazing study group friend to have. Leo interests often revolve around creative pursuits and self-expression– Leos love to showcase their talents and inspire others to channel their own bold ambition!

Virgo

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Virgo

Slen Qaros

Slen is described as articulate, and devouring of knowledge. A powerful, smart speaker stomping around in combat boots and fingerless gloves, Slen is NOT to be messed with. She has the Virgo traits of logical and practical thought and improves her musical skills through hard work and consistent practice. House Qaros is said to be the most ambitious. Very musical. And our dear Slen may just be the Beyoncé of them all.

Libra

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Libra

Etete / Ruth

Ah, who else could bring ANY semblance of balance to House Adane besides Etete? She is the diplomatic bridge between Kidan and Susenyos, which MAY be a bit idealistic considering that they can barely stand to be in the same room… but Etete, in true Libra fashion, manages to keep them from killing each other. Libras are also known for their grace and sophistication—AND aesthetic eye! Etete is the epitome of these traits.

Scorpio

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Scorpio

Iniko Obu

Scorpio, the scorpion, known for its venomous sting… as is the strikingly beautiful Iniko. Scorpios have a knack for creating an atmosphere charged with mystery and allure and draw people in with their piercing gaze and irresistible charisma. Iniko is one of the most mysterious and compelling characters in this series. Not to mention, with her fondness of silver choker necklaces and knives, she gives off a rather… seductive energy? Beguiling energy? Enigmatic energy? SCORPIO energy.

Sagittarius

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Sagittarius

Susenyos Sagad

Two fire signs can combine to create a stronger sense of adventure and energy… which is why to be with Kidan, you KNOW Susenyos must be fiery as well! Sagittarius is the most guarded of fire signs, which makes sense for Susenyos. Fueled by wanderlust, Sags can be found exploring all corners of the world on thrill-seeking expeditions, chasing after geographical, intellectual, and spiritual adventures. Susenyos is one of the most worldly characters in the book, with experience that extends literally HUNDREDS of years. He can also be a bit blunt… that’s that signature Sag brutal honesty!

Capricorn

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Capricorn

Dean Faris

“Dean Faris spoke like a dignified politician, as if her campus was the setting of all order and law.” Dean Faris is scholarly, for sure, but what drives Kidan truly up the wall is her discipline. Because of their unwavering focus, Capricorns can sometimes be perceived as cold, unemotional, or even cutthroat — but that’s only because Capricorn has perspective. Ruled by Saturn, the planet associated with rules, tasks, and responsibilities, it’s no wonder Dean Faris is obsessed with laws!

Aquarius

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Aquarius

June Adane

(Technically I know Kidan and June are twins, but I wanted to give June her own zodiac sign.) Oh, June. Whomst are you, really? An angel? A rebel? Most everything we know about you we’ve found out through Kidan. Aquarians are known as the “humanitarian of the zodiac”, which makes sense since June seems to be the kind and loving foil to Kidan. Though by the end of this book, no one can argue she seems a bit free-spirited and eccentric… if you know what I mean. What are her motives? We’ll have to wait until book two… but in the meantime, bear in mind that once Aquarians make up their mind, there’s no going back!

Pisces

NOVL - Illustrated icon depicting the sign for Pisces

Ramyn Ajtaf

Sweet, dreamy Ramyn. She always seems distracted, in a world of her own; a nervous ball of energy. Ramyn is one of the gentlest characters in this whole book. Pisces are known to wear rose-colored glasses, and Ramyn can seem a bit naïve—hence Kidan feeling the need to protect her. But as the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces are often just sitting back and absorbing every lesson learned by all the other signs. Ramyn’s childlike spirit makes those around her want to care for her, which is good, because she often forgets to care for herself.

Immortal Dark

by Tigest Girma

The Cruel Prince meets Ninth House in this dangerously romantic dark academia fantasy, where a lost heiress must infiltrate an arcane society and live with the vampire she suspects killed her family and kidnapped her sister.

It began long before my time, but something has always hunted our family.

Orphaned heiress Kidan Adane grew up far from the arcane society she was born into, where human bloodlines gain power through vampire companionship. When her sister, June, disappears, Kidan is convinced a vampire stole her—the very vampire bound to their family, the cruel yet captivating Susenyos Sagad.

To find June, Kidan must infiltrate the elite Uxlay University—where students study to ensure peaceful coexistence between humans and vampires and inherit their family legacies. Kidan must survive living with Susenyos—even as he does everything he can to drive her away. It doesn’t matter that Susenyos’s wickedness speaks to Kidan’s own violent nature and tempts her to surrender to a life of darkness. She must find her sister and kill Susenyos at all costs.

When a murder mirroring June’s disappearance shakes Uxlay, Kidan sinks further into the ruthless underworld of vampires, risking her very soul. There she discovers a centuries-old threat—and June could be at the center of it. To save her sister, Kidan must bring Uxlay to its knees and either break free from the horrors of her own actions or embrace the dark entanglements of love—and the blood it requires.
